Trio arrested for armed robbery

Johannesburg - Three men have been arrested for armed robbery and car hijacking in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, police said on Saturday.
Colonel Leonard Hlathi said the trio allegedly robbed a shop at gunpoint in Acornhoek, near Bushbuckridge, on Friday.
"The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle belonging to the owner of the shop.
"The vehicle was later found abandoned alongside the road in Acornhoek," he said.
On the same day, the men, aged between 30 and 39, allegedly hijacked a vehicle belonging to a bakery and robbed the occupants of cash and their belongings at Rooiboknagte Trust in Acornhoek.
"The villains then locked the victims at the back of the bakery vehicle then drove off with them for a few kilometres.
"The truck was found abandoned in the bushes around [the] Acornhoek area," Hlathi said. The three man were found in possession of an undisclosed amount of cash and a cellphone belonging to one of the victims.
They will appear in the Acornhoek Magistrate's Court on Monday.
