Durban - Three people were arrested for killing a woman suspected of witchcraft in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Monday.

Colonel Vincent Mdunge said two of them, including a teenager, were arrested on Sunday.

The 16-year-old claimed he had been sent by 35-year old woman to shoot Ntombikhona Mnguni, 40, at her home on August 13.

Another 60-year old man, believed to have supplied the weapon used in the murder, was also arrested.

Mdunge said the firearm would be taken for ballistic tests to confirm whether it was used in the murder.

The three are expected to appear in court soon.
