Tropical cyclone Irina dies down
Durban - Tropical cyclone Irina, which caused heavy storms over KwaZulu-Natal and serious damage in neighbouring Mozambique last weekend, has died down, the SA Weather Service said on Monday.
"The cyclone was located on the border of Mozambique and KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday but it was weakening," spokesperson Bubele Bulo said.
He said it died down on Sunday afternoon and would not be approaching the country in the next seven days.
He predicted that KwaZulu-Natal would experience 60% chance of showers and thundershowers on Monday and Tuesday.
