Johannesburg - Two drivers were killed when their trucks collided head-on outside Lebowakgomo, Limpopo police said on Sunday.
The trucks, one carrying a load of tomatoes, the other empty, collided at 18:00 on Saturday on the R57 between Burgersfort and Polokwane, next to the ZCC Church, Captain Mamphaswa Seabi said.
"One truck was heading east, the other was heading west and they crashed into each other."
Both drivers died on the scene, while four passengers, all in their 30s and 40s, from both the trucks were seriously injured.
"I don't know exactly what happened. It will have to be investigated."
Cases of culpable homicide have been opened.
