Johannesburg - Two people have been arrested for shooting a Somalian shop owner in Valencia, Addo, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.

They were arrested in Valencia on Sunday but no firearms or stolen property were recovered, said Lieutenant Colonel Priscilla Naidu.

"[The] shop owner was shot in the hip when three men robbed his shop... on Saturday evening.

"The men rampaged the shop and helped themselves to an unknown amount of cash and airtime vouchers [sic]," said Naidu.

Police were still looking for the third robber.

The 40-year-old shop owner was taken to the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital and was in a stable condition.

The refugee makes an honest living and the locals take him out for it because they choose not to. How very typical.
