Two convicted of rhino poaching

Johannesburg - Two men were found guilty of poaching rhino in the Kruger National Park by the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on Thursday, police said.

Colonel Vish Naidoo said Ali Nkuna and Gerson Cosa were found guilty of trespassing, of being in possession of hunting rifles and ammunition, and poaching rhino calf.

Cosa was also found guilty of being the country illegally.

Naidoo said the men were arrested last June following a joint investigation by the police, the SA National Defence Force and the National Prosecuting Authority.

Sentencing procedures would start on 31 August.
