Durban – Two people were killed in the early hours of Thursday in an accident involving two buses, a truck and two cows near Harding, KZN EMS said.

Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Robert McKenzie said paramedics arrived on scene and found one bus lying on its side and over 50 people having sustained injuries.

“Paramedics worked rapidly to assess and triage all the patients. Due to the number of casualties, additional vehicles were dispatched from Port Shepstone to assist at the scene.”

He said paramedics treated 52 patients.

“Nine patients were in a serious condition, while 43 of the patients had sustained minor injuries,” said McKenzie.
