Two die in KZN accident
Durban - Two people died and 14 were injured when the drivers of a taxi and another vehicle collided in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, on Tuesday, paramedics said.
"When we arrived on the scene, one person had died from the impact of the accident.
"On our way to the hospital, one of the critically injured patients also died," said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.
Two people were critically injured, five were seriously injured and seven sustained minor injuries.
"When the taxi collided with the vehicle it went off the road, rolled and landed in a drainage area. Jaws-of-Life had to be used to free one of the patients from the wreckage."
One of the critically injured patients was airlifted to the Albert Luthuli Hospital. The other patients were transported to various other hospitals in Durban, Botha said.
