Johannesburg - Two men have each been jailed for 32 years after they robbed a Spar store in Fairlands, Johannesburg, in 2010, police said on Wednesday.
Captain Pinky Tsinyane said Mbekeni Zwane, 31, and Welcome Mtshali, 30, were convicted by the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg on Tuesday on charges of assault, attempted murder and contravening the Firearms Control Act.
They were arrested on 18 September 2010.
"The two entered the Spar supermarket where they assaulted and shot some of the employees during the robbery. They also stole some of the victims' valuables," Tsinyane said.
