Two held for double murder

Welkom - Two 19-year-old cousins have been charged with the murder of a Free State couple whose burnt bodies were found in a station wagon near their farm in the Heilbron area, police said on Friday.
Police believe 42-year old Fanie Smith and his 33-year old wife, Ina, were shot dead before their bodies were set alight.
Police caught the duo after one of the two young men was spotted on a neighbouring farm still wearing bloody clothing and shoes.
A statement made under interrogation led to a second arrest, northern Free State police spokesperson Captain Rosa Benade said.
The bloody clothes have been sent for forensic analysis. Their shoes were also confiscated for comparison to footprint casts made at the crime scene.
The two were expected to appear in the Heilbron Magistrate's Court on Monday.
