Durban - Two men were expected to be charged in connection with the farm attack which left a farmer seriously wounded and his wife dead in Colenso, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Tuesday
Two men were found in possession of the farmer’s firearm believed to have been stolen during the attack, said Superintendent Jay Naicker.
The farmer, Nigel Ralfe, 70, was shot twice and survived but his wife Lynette, 68, was killed on Sunday night.
A statement released by the DA on Monday stated that four people were nabbed in connection with the attack but Naicker had since corrected the figure.
He said six people were taken in for questioning on Monday and that only two were detained.
“They have not been charged but they will be charged soon since the firearm has linked them to the attack,” he said.
The farmer was milking cows with his employees when they were approached by four armed men who demanded cash.
