Johannesburg - Two men were arrested in connection with robberies and rapes which took place in Klipfontein and Rabie Ridge on Wednesday, police said.

The men entered a house in Klipfontein and robbed the occupants with a knife and screwdriver, said Lieutenant Colonel Katlego Mogale.

Two women were raped during the robbery.

One of the men was arrested when he tried to sell the cellphone he had stolen. This led to the arrest of the second man, said Mogale.

Police also recovered stolen goods linked to other cases in the Klipfontein area.

The men will appear in the Tembisa Magistrate's Court soon.
