Johannesburg - Two men have been arrested after they allegedly stole a car in Eldorado Park, south of Johannesburg, Gauteng police said on Monday.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele said the men, aged 23 and 24, were found in possession of a Toyota Tazz in Zola, Soweto, minutes after a 42-year-old man opened a case of car theft in Eldorado Park on Sunday.

He was not at home when the car was stolen from his yard.

"Patrolling police spotted the car in Zola shortly after the theft was reported, and the two were arrested."

They would appear in Protea Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

A High Five for the SAPD. I always feel bad when they get somuch negative publicity when in fact the majority are on the ball and mostly react speedily and with purpose. There are a few rotten eggs amongst tnem but given enough time and rope, they are gradually being sifted out. Well done SA police. Keep up the good work
