Johannesburg - Two people, including a child, were killed on Sunday when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the N14 between Malibongwe and Beyers Naude Drive, said Johannesburg paramedics.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found that a light delivery vehicle pulling a caravan had overturned.

"The vehicle and scattered remains of the caravan were found on the centre island between the two roads," she said.

"A 39-year-old man and 10-year-old boy were ejected from the vehicle and died on impact."

A woman and another boy sustained serious injuries.

Steinmann said they were taken to a nearby hospital.

Police are investigating.
