Johannesburg - Two men were killed when two bakkies collided in Honeydew Ridge in Roodepoort, northwest of Johannesburg, on Wednesday, paramedics said.

The collision occurred on Paul Kruger Road, near the Nic Diederichs boulevard junction in Honeydew Ridge, said Netcare911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks.

Both cars were travelling in the same direction when one of the drivers lost control of his vehicle.

"It had come to rest sideways across the roadway and the second collided with it."

The driver and passenger in the first vehicle were killed.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
