Two people die in N2 crash, 4 injured

East London - Two people were killed in a road accident on the N2 near Doti, between Dutywa and Mthatha in the early hours of Sunday, Eastern Cape police said.
The accident happened at 00:45 on Sunday while a Opel Corsa was following a Mazda 323, said Captain Lingisile Magama.
The Mazda was making a right turn when the Corsa allegedly attempted to pass and rammed into its right side.
Two passengers, a 27-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, in the Mazda were killed. The woman was a school teacher who was returning home from Dutywa.
A third passenger, a man, in the Mazda was injured. The driver escaped without harm.
Three people in the Corsa, the driver and two passengers, were injured in the accident.
The police have opened a case of culpable homicide.
