US Embassy to reopen
Johannesburg - The US Embassy and other American offices in South Africa are expected to reopen on Friday after being closed for two days because of unspecified security concerns.
Spokesperson Sharon Hudson-Dean said on Wednesday that all US government facilities in South Africa plan to resume normal operations.
The facilities were ordered to close on Tuesday and will be closed again on Thursday because of a public holiday.
US State Department spokesperson Ian Kelly said in a press briefing in Washington on Tuesday that "credible" information had been received about a possible threat against the embassy.
He said he was not able to elaborate on details of the threat.
