Unhappy residents protest service delivery

2012-01-23 21:44

Johannesburg - Residents in parts of Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal protested over poor service delivery on Monday.

In Luphisi, about 30km outside Nelspruit, residents blocked roads with burning tyres on Monday, Mpumalanga police spokesperson Sergeant Gerald Sedibe said.

He said protesters were still on the street, but there had been no violence and no one had been arrested.

In KwaMashu, north of Durban, residents burnt tyres.

The protesters had dispersed by Monday afternoon, said KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane. Nobody was arrested.

you voted for that pathetic party called ANC.Now shut up

      Pierre - 2012-01-24 07:25

All the parties are pathetic; the ANC is only the least pathetic. Churchill’s words are applicable; “democracy is the worst kind of government, except for all the others that has been tried before”.

Why oh why do they have to burn tyres??? Anything but burning plastic and rubber. Have you heard of dioxin, global warming climate change....

And they will vote ANC again, and they will keep on protesting.

I have to agree with Pierre - DA in Lenasia JHB is just as pathetic as the ANC - DA councilor has illegal shacks in her backyard and her electricity bill is in arrears. Grass is overgrown, roads have potholes and DA has never been heard from since the election - zero

I suspect there is a 'Third Force' involved here. Why so many service delivery protests in the last week? Did everyone finally get over their Christmas hangover? I think this deserves to be investigated properly. It seems to happen in waves.
