W Cape man caught with uncut diamonds

Johannesburg - A man was arrested in Malmesbury for possession of 14 uncut diamonds, Western Cape police said on Sunday.

Captain Frederick van Wyk said the 30-year-old man was arrested on Saturday at around 19:00.

"Patrolling police searched the driver and three passengers of a suspiciously parked car in Malmesbury."

One of the men was carrying the 14 diamonds in his wallet.

The estimated value of the diamonds was not immediately known.

The man face a charge of possession of uncut diamonds and was expected to appear in the Malmesbury Magistrate's Court on Monday, Van Wyk said.
