Johannesburg - Pregnant MP Thandile Sunduza, whose canary yellow – and very tight – dress at the State of the Nation address set social media abuzz, is in hospital, City Press reports.

The paper said she had collapsed at OR Tambo International Airport after arriving from Cape Town. Just hours before, during a telephone interview with the paper,  she had been in high spirits, City Press said.

Her personal assistant, who did not want to give her name, said it wasn’t clear what was wrong with Sunduza.

She did, however, say that the whole" thing" must be getting to the MP.

In an interview with City Press on Friday, Sunduza, who is also arts and culture portfolio committee chairperson, said the dress wasn’t what she’d wanted to wear. The original dress by a designer in Pretoria arrived late and wasn’t what they’d agreed upon.

So, said Sunduza, she was forced to adjust the yellow dress.

Sunduza, who is seven months pregnant, added that she’d grown up chubby and not even diets have worked.
