Warmer weather on its way

2012-06-11 09:31

Cape Town - Those caught unprepared by the cold front that moved in over the Western Cape and the rest of the country late last week and over the weekend, will be relieved to know that sunnier weather is on the cards for the next few days.

Temperatures of around 20°C have been forecast for Cape Town, Mossel Bay and Beaufort West for Monday, reported Die Burger.

Snow fell in the Ceres region over the weekend, even though only a light dusting of white around the tips of the Matroosberge could be seen on Sunday.

A little bit of snow was also still visible on mountains in the De Doorns, Du Toitskloof, Worcester and Rawsonville areas.

Snow also fell in other parts of the country over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the cold front that brought bitterly cold conditions moved its way eastwards and exited the country on Saturday.

The South African Weather Service says no rain is expected on Monday onwards, and daytime temperatures will begin to improve.
