Cape Town - Water supply to parts of the Stellenbosch area in the Western Cape will be interrupted at the weekend, the municipality said on Friday.

Pniel, Johannesdal, Kylmore, Meerlust, Lanquedoc, and Klapmuts would be affected between 05:00 on Saturday and 18:00 on Monday, spokesperson Vernon Bowers said.

The potable water is supplied by the City of Cape Town and distributed by the municipality.

"Stellenbosch municipality will do its utmost to fill the reservoirs before the interruption occurs," said Bowers.

Residents were asked, however, to make provision for their water needs in advance and to use water sparingly.
