Johannesburg - A member of the so-called "Waterkloof four" is expected to apply for an extension of his bail in the Pretoria High Court on Monday, The Times reported.
Christoff Becker's new lawyer, Harry Pretorius, told the newspaper he would apply for a bail extension pending an application to the Constitutional Court for a retrial.
Becker and three of his friends had been convicted of the murder of an unidentified homeless man in the Pretoria suburb of Moreleta Park which happened in 2001 while they were still in school.
Gert van Schalkwyk, Frikkie du Preez, Reinach Tiedt and Becker admitted to assaulting two unknown men while they were still teenagers.
Becker appointed his own legal counsel after the four's appeal failed in the Pretoria High Court, arguing that he did not receive a fair trial.
