We were deeply in love - Oscar

Pretoria - The Pretoria Magistrate's Court has heard an
affidavit from Oscar Pistorius in which he describes what happened in his house
in the early hours of Valentine's Day, and seeks to be released on bail.
"I fail to understand how I could be charged with
murder let alone pre-meditated murder as I did not intend to kill my girlfriend,"
the statement from Pistorius read.
"I deny that I committed murder in the strongest point.
Even though I don't have to, I want to deal with these allegations.
"Reeva had bought me a present for Valentine's Day. We
were deeply in love."
Pistorius's statement says that he and his girlfriend, Reeva
Steenkamp, spent the evening of 13 February 2013 at his home. "By 22:00 we
were in the bedroom, she was doing yoga. I was watching TV with my prosthetic
legs off. At the end of the evening, we got into bed."
As the statement was being read out, Pistorius broke down in
tears. Magistrate Desmond Nair interrupted court proceedings, saying his
compassion as a human being didn’t allow him to continue.
