Durban - A woman who kept the bodies of two babies in a
chest freezer appeared in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
The case against Thandiwe Wendy Dladla was postponed to 5
April for further investigations.
The bodies of a 4-month-old baby and a newborn were found
among chicken pieces and meat on 26 January in KwaMashu, after KwaZulu-Natal
police received a tip-off from local residents.
Dladla had allegedly been running an illegal funeral home
called Mabinda Funeral Services.
She had been declared insolvent, and her assets were
liquidated.
Despite this she allegedly continued running the
business.
The bodies were discovered when police conducted an
in-loco inspection.
The woman was arrested and charged with contravening the
Human Tissue Act.
