Johannesburg - A Malawian woman arrested for alleged possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R1.5m appeared in the Malelane Periodical Court on Monday, Mpumalanga police said.

The drugs were allegedly found in 38-year-old Stella Kakhobwe's luggage on Saturday, during a search at the Lebombo border post, near Komatipoort, Colonel Leonard Hlathi said.

She was on a minibus taxi coming from Mozambique.

Police found chemicals and dagga in her bag.

She would remain in custody and appear in the Komatipoort Periodical Court on a charge of drug dealing on Tuesday.
