Woman crashes bakkie into electricity box

2011-04-14 15:55

Johannesburg - ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said a woman had been treated for shock after crashing her bakkie into an electricity box in New Germany, Pinetown on Thursday.

Banks said the woman had lost control of her double cab just after the rush hour.

The vehicle first hit the electricity box, then a fence before careening down an embankment into a shaded car port, he said

She was treated for shock before being taken to hospital.

Electricity in the New Germany area was disrupted as a result of the accident because live wires were exposed.

    Treated for SHOCK!

      Did he died?

      L_Savage - 2011-04-14 16:41

Unlikely. Especially since it was a "she" ;) But to answer your question properly, I doubt she died, no. Being in a state of shock following an accident is fairly normal. If the article had said she was treated for severe medical trauma then there would be that possibility. Going to a hospital for a check-up after an accident is fairly normal procedure or mostly a matter of precaution.

Just in case anyone is not aware of this, "shock", as referred to in this article has nothing to do with an electrical shock.

Taken to hospital and discharged, should be home in a flash. Eskom said they won’t charge her as she has already been charged.
