Pretoria - A woman has told the Pretoria High Court how she found her murdered elderly mother’s body among clothing on the floor of her upmarket home in the Equestria security estate in Pretoria.

Ute Maria Wiing, 70, was killed in the Silver Mist complex in May 2010 during an alleged robbery, reported the Pretoria News.

Wiing’s daughter, Patricia Heinze, testified how she became worried after she couldn’t get hold of her mother on the phone.

Heinze told how she came into the house and saw the TV on the floor with three wine bottles next to it.

In the kitchen she saw the freezer door was open and the food they had had for dinner two days ago was still on the table.

She went upstairs and saw everything was in disarray before discovering her mother’s body.

“She was tied up. I felt her hands and they were cold. Her face was black and blue and her hands were blue. She was cold all over,” said Heinze.

Wiing’s body was found among clothes and other items pulled from the cupboard. Something had been stuffed in her mouth.

Three men were facing charges of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
