Woman falls into hull of ship

Durban - A woman was in a serious condition on Tuesday after falling down the hull of a ship in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

"Paramedics and their rescue unit arrived at the scene and found the patient at the bottom of the ship's hull in severe pain," said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.

He said the incident happened at Maydon Wharf at around 04:00.

The woman, believed to be a worker, was stabilised, hoisted out of the ship and transported by ambulance to the St Augustine's hospital.
