Bloemfontein - Three men have raped a Sasolburg woman after chasing her boyfriend away with knobkerries, Free State police said on Monday.

Constable Peter Kareli said the 43-year-old woman and her boyfriend were on their way home from a sangoma ceremony on Saturday around 13:30.

They ran into three men carrying sticks and knobkerries. Two of the men chased the boyfriend, while the third held the woman down.

When the two men returned, they covered the woman’s face with a blanket and all three took turns raping her. The men fled afterwards.
