2012-04-28 15:46

Johannesburg - A woman was stabbed in Ivory Park and two paramedics attending to her were assaulted on Saturday, Johannesburg emergency service said.

"They [the paramedics] found a pensioner with multiple stab wounds to her body," said spokesman Synock Motobako.

"While treating the old lady, four drunk women intervened... and the men were manhandled and hit with a bottle."

Police arrived a short while later and arrested the four, including the pensioner's daughter.
The injured woman was taken to hospital.

Jail? don't be silly now, the prez has just released a whole lot of prisoners for Freedom Day. DIP (drunk in public) is about R 100 admission of guilt, assault common is about R 300 and 4 hours in a cell to sober up. Yay, lucky medics, bruised and battered in the line of duty helping a pensioner who had multiple stab wounds ... SA catch a wake up before it is too late

"Including the pensioner's daughter"? What is happening to our society? We are sinking lower every day..

@ Trurio - what makes me so sad is that we as a nation have such incredible potential - maybe if I did not have the expectation, I wouldn't be so deeply disappointed..

WTF? South Africa should be proud-we are the rape capital,we abuse elderly, attack the very people trying to help the injured, rape children, kill"witches" at the drop of a hat,use body parts for "medicine"....the list is ongoing. We should be very proud-we have no morality, self respect,we have no hope! Our post 1994 government was to be the "hope" but sadly they have turned their backs and stood idly by on a "power trip" whilst humanity dies in our beloved, crying.country!

Ivory park is my home but has recently been used as a place of DRUGLORDS who are threatening and stealing from our poor citizens, it breaks my heart when we press charges of some1 then be told by the Police that you are not going to succeed because\r\n These druglords are proud to have representatives who friends with same Police man. Everyone in ivory park EXT3 knows what I'm talking about.
