Johannesburg - A woman was rescued from a burning house in Randburg, Gauteng paramedics said on Saturday.

"Upon investigating the inside...a paramedic discovered that a female resident....was [trapped]," said ER24 spokesperson André Visser.

She was taken outside and treated for burns to her hands, and smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire was unknown but concerned bystanders had attempted to extinguish a gas cylinder engulfed in the flames, he said.

Authorities were investigating.

Have many more casualties would be my answer. Well done for so many people who have chosen to help others and not only themselves. Great story to read. Keep them coming. You can hold the Malema stuff.
