Johannesburg - A 29-year-old woman will appear in the
Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in connection with the murder of an employee
of the US consulate, Gauteng police said on Monday.
The 41-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death on Sunday
morning. He arrived with the woman at a flat in Illovo at 03:00, said Lieutenant
Colonel Lungelo Dlamini.
The guard heard a woman screaming and when he went to check
he allegedly saw the woman with a knife in her hand. The man had been stabbed
and died on the scene, said Dlamini.
Police arrested the woman and seized a knife.
He said the motive for the murder was being investigated.
Police initially said the woman would appear in court on
Monday, but her appearance has been postponed to Tuesday, said Dlamini.
