Woman wounded in CT shooting

Cape Town - A 44-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting incident in Kenilworth, Cape Town on Sunday, paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Tristan Wadely said the woman was shot at the Kenilworth Shopping Centre at around 14:45.
Wadely said the woman was in a serious condition and taken to the Vincent Palloti hospital.
A 17-year-old girl was also taken to hospital after the incident.
Wadely said she was treated for a medical condition that she suffered from before the shooting, but it is believed that her condition could have been induced or exasperated by the incident.
He did not want to say where the 44-year-old woman was shot or what the 17-year-old girl suffered from.
He said the exact details around the incident was unknown to the paramedics.
"Paramedics reported still hearing gunshots while they worked on the scene," he said.
Metro cop shot
A News24 user shopping at the time said that shots were fired in the Checkers store and at least one staff member was hit.
"We're
still very traumatised and can't speak now," a staffer told News24.
"One of our controllers was shot, but I don't know how many there were,
and I think two have been arrested," she added.
Police Inspector
Filander said that between one and four suspects shot a Metro police
officer in his left hand and hijacked his vehicle. He also confirmed
the shooting of the Checkers worker.
