One can only wonder why do these accidents fail to convince mine management to pick-up their efforts at mine safety. Despite what is said and millions are paid these accidents still happen and regularly. Why. In my opinion the problem lies with the lackadaisical management who have the resources but not the will to intervene in a more intelligent manner.Mine accidents will haunt South Africans as long as we have mines with inept managements.
