Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday sent condolences to the government and people of Iran after more than 300 people died in twin earthquakes.

"In this time of sadness and bereavement, the government and people of South Africa hold the bereaved families in their thoughts and prayers," Zuma said in a statement issued by the international relations department.

Zuma wished the injured a speedy recovery. The quakes hit the towns of Ahar and Varzagan in north-west Iran on Saturday.

The department said it had not received reports of any South Africans affected.

Ye Gods, what is wrong with you lot? People ate suffering, what is wrong with sending condolences from the people of South Africa? Instead of spewing your trolling crap here, why don't you write to the people directly suffering and tell them you wished they had died. You bunch of efffing hypocrites, this this eff all to do with Farm murders or the like.
