Johannesburg - The inquest involving Duduzane Zuma, President Jacob Zuma's son, at the Randburg Magistrate's Court was adjourned for 45 minutes on Tuesday for lawyers to finalise the uncontested evidence.

Magistrate Lalita Chetty told reporters no photographs or video footage could be taken during proceedings.

Zuma sat in the front row of the gallery wearing a grey suit and black tie, looking calm.

He is attending the inquest into a crash in which taxi passenger Phumzile Dube died after his Porsche hit the back of the taxi and the taxi overturned.

The inquest will run from 4 to 14 November.

Zuma missed the scheduled proceedings of the inquest in August, after which his lawyer apologised and said he did not receive the message that he was meant to appear in court on the day.

At the time of the accident, metro police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the Porsche rear-ended the taxi on the M1 south off-ramp to Grayston Drive in Sandton.

Three other people were injured in the crash.

The inquest heard that a second person injured in the crash had since died.

Jeanette Mashaba died in May, three months after the accident.

However, prosecutor Yusuf Baba said they would not be pursuing an inquest into her death as her death certificate stated she had died of natural causes.
