Durban - A motorcyclist was killed on the M7 Highway in Queensburgh, Durban, on Sunday afternoon.

Rescuecare spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said that paramedics had responded to a report of an accident near the Main Road Bridge.

“Paramedics received a call of a serious motorbike accident on the M7 East Bound before Main Road off-ramp.

“On arrival, paramedics found the critically injured man lying in the centre medium. They immediately assessed him and found that the man had no pulse. Advanced Life Support Paramedics tried to resuscitate the man for more than half an hour, however, they were not successful and he passed away,” Jamieson said.

He added that it was the second fatal motorcycle accident on the same road this weekend.

“This is the second bike accident this weekend on the M7 where Rescue Care Paramedics have attended and both have been fatal. The necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating further,” he said.
