Bloemfontein – A minibus taxi driver was killed when his vehicle crashed into a tree in Bloemfontein on Sunday morning, paramedics said.

The accident took place on Paul Kruger Road in the early hours of the morning, said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.

“The front of the taxi had been completely smashed inwards.”

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and showed no signs of life.

Fire services later removed his body using the jaws of life.
