It’s Garden Day next Sunday, which means we’re all going to be celebrating our patches of earth, from balcony potplants and vegetable gardens, to patches of lawn and others filled with flowers.

Recent research shows that people spend more time toiling in their gardens than anjoying them, and the whole idea of Garden Day is to put the tools down and spend time with neighbours, family and friends.

The recent study also found that some gardeners spend a month of their year tending their gardens, and participants in the study said they felt happier in their gardens than going out or watching TV.

Also, 88% of them said gardening made them healthier.
