Cape Town – A man is in a serious condition after being thrown from a moving train in Cape Town on Tuesday afternoon, Western Cape paramedics confirmed.

The 40-year-old man’s friend apparently witnessed the incident and called paramedics for help, said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring in a statement.

The man was found lying next to the tracks, with serious injuries to his legs and one of his arms.
Officials stopped all traffic on the rails to allow paramedics access to him.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Provincial police were not immediately available to comment.

Another Cape Town man, Darryn August, 27, was recently stabbed and thrown from a train by robbers after coming to the defence of a pregnant woman on his carriage to Somerset West.
