Cape Town – Thousands of local and international tourists have gathered in the Cape Town CBD to witness the annual Tweede Nuwe Jaar Minstrel Carnival on Saturday.

- Are you there? Send us your photos.

This year the carnival has attracted over 60 minstrel troupes, who march through the city.

Some people have camped out overnight in the CBD to catch the troupes in their colourful costumes.

Here are a few images taken by those enjoying the carnival.
