Cape Town – Dagga worth an estimated street value of R25 000 was seized at an unregistered crèche in Muizenberg, Cape Town, police said on Monday night.

Police raided the Seawinds Street home on Saturday following a tip-off from residents, Captain FC van Wyk said.

The dagga was found under the built-in cupboards in the kitchen. The haul included 36 parcels of dagga, 22 “bankies” (small packets), and 22 “sticks”.

The 56-year-old crèche owner was arrested.

“The location of these illegal substances at a crèche is alarming and this information will be forwarded to the department of social development,” Van Wyk said.
