Delivery truck driver shot dead near Joburg

Johannesburg - A driver of a delivery truck was shot dead on the N4 in Bronkhorstspruit, just outside Johannesburg, on Tuesday, police said.

"The driver was shot and killed on the N4 earlier this morning [Tuesday]. We are investigating a case of murder," Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng told News24.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said the incident happened about 11:10 on Tuesday morning.

"When Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the man had already died due to the gunshot wound he sustained," Mathe said.

She said the man was declared dead on scene.
