Actor and singer Dumi Masilela who died last month's alleged killer is apparently refusing to co-operate with the authorities. The news of his behaviour was revealed during a court appearance this week when the detective handling the case revealed that the suspect had refused to be charged.

“Last time I went to Modderbee [Correctional Services]‚ the suspect refused to be charged‚ saying that he needed to consult with his lawyer‚” Detective Mthokozisi Ngwenya  explained in the Benoni Magistrate court. During the proceedings it was also revealed that the suspect had refused to get his finger prints taken.

“You are a big guy. Take a few big guys and sit on his head if you have to. Just don’t hurt him. Don’t make him bleed. Bring your strong-armed men. Get his fingerprints. The police should explain to him that they will need to use reasonable force if necessary if he gets hurt‚ whose fault would it be? Just get on with it and be ready on the 21st‚” explained the Magistrate on the case Magistrate Elmari Schutte to the prosecutors.

Dumi died after an attempted hijacking in Tembisa. He was married to actress Simphiwe Ngema.
