Cape Town - Six bottles of red wine, an iPhone and three-year-old Bonsmara cow.

These are some of the gifts that Minister of Social Development Bathabile Dlamini applied to keep, Netwerk24 reported.

President Jacob Zuma provided this information on Monday in reply to a written parliamentary question by DA MP Mike Waters.

Among other gifts that Dlamini asked permission to keep is a magazine rack made of leather and chrome of which the value and donor are unknown. She also asked to keep a jewellery box and handbag worth R2 400 that was given to her in 2011 by Dimension Data.

The minister also applied to keep an artwork worth R15 000 by John Adams Artists in Port Elizabeth which was donated by the Community Development Association's agenda committee, as well as a traditional Xhosa outfit worth R1 500 that was donated in 2011 by them.

In 2013, she applied to keep an iPhone worth R9 499 that Cell C offered to her as a gift; and in 2015, she asked to keep six bottles of red wine worth R120 each, as well as a traditional Zulu basket worth about R2 500 that was given to her by Zulu king Goodwill Zwelithini.

The most expensive present that Dlamini asked to keep between 2010 and 2016 is a three-year-old cow worth R60 000 – a Bonsmara cow given to her by G.T Molefe Farming from Harrismith.
