Durban – The funeral service for the family of murder accused Fanie du Preez, is set to take place on Friday at the River of Life Church.

Du Preez stands accused of murdering his wife Thea, 43, and children, Carlia, 17 and Phillip, 14 on December 3.

Du Preez is facing charges of murder, illegal possession of firearms and defeating the ends of justice.

In his latest appearance at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, Du Preez's matter was postponed to next week for a formal bail application.

The State prosecutor said that because the crime was a schedule 6 offence, bail would be opposed.
