Johannesburg – A father and his daughter appeared in court on Tuesday where they are facing 102 charges of fraud and theft.

The duo, previously employed at Red Ants, a security company, appeared briefly in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court.

The father is 58-year old Dennis Stephen Klassen, a former director and chief operation officer of the Red Ants, and his daughter, Rochelle Klassen Adonis, 38, a former director of the Red Ants's Cape Town branch.

Both of them were ordered to appear before the court following a lengthy investigation by a specialised team of detectives from the SAPS.

"They are accused of acting together in defrauding the company assets and shares," totalling about R8m, SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Vish Naidoo said.

The crimes are alleged to have taken place between 2010 and 2013.

The case has been postponed to March 11 2016 for prosecution.

Klaasen also has a pending case of theft and fraud against him currently being heard in the Randburg Magistrate's Court, for which he is also out on bail.
