Four killed, 14 hurt as storm lashes KZN

Cape Town – At least four people were killed and 14 others injured during a violent storm in KwaZulu-Natal on Friday night, paramedics said on Saturday.

KZN EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie said 13 people were injured when several homes collapsed in and around Durban during the storm.

Another person was seriously injured when a tree fell on a car in Essenwood Road, in Durban on Friday, he said.

Two people in Mayville, Durban and another two in Verulam north of the city sustained fatal injuries after they were struck by lightning, McKenzie said.
