Bloemfontein – The case against a man who allegedly killed two homeless men and assaulted a third was postponed in the Virginia Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

The case of Mokete Fane, 18, was postponed until March 17 to give him time to find legal representation, said Warrant Officer Lesole Monye.

Fane was arrested on Wednesday after two witnesses identified him.

One homeless man was found dead in a pool of blood, half naked, his shoes next to him, outside the Virginia Post Office on Sunday morning.

On the same day, a second homeless man was discovered outside a bank. A bloodstained rock with the word "Jesus" written on it was found next to him.

On Monday morning, another man was found badly assaulted outside Dunlop Tyres in Virginia.

The man was found lying on the ground with broken teeth and bleeding from the mouth. Next to him was a huge bloodstained rock. He was rushed to a hospital in Bloemfontein.

Cases of murder and attempted murder were opened.
